4 Healthy Living Tips For Busy People

No matter how busy your schedule is it can be done.

With our busy schedules, wellness often tends to take the back burner. But it doesn't have to be that way! Sometimes we find ourselves prioritizing everything but our overall wellness. In order to perform at our maximum level living a healthy lifestyle can help this process. While it might seem impossible it can be done!

Dedication to yourself might be the number one way to ensure a healthy lifestyle, these tips can also help you along the way.

Here are 4 healthy living tips you can implement in your busy schedule:

1. Make sleep a top priority.

Living a healthy lifestyle doesn't only mean commiting to regular exercise and eating a well balanced diet. Take a closer look at your schedule. Are you getting enough sleep, and staying asleep throughout the night? If you start your day early try sleeping a bit earlier that way you can wake up at an earlier time. Giving yourself the proper amount of sleep.

Tip: Investing in a fitbit / apple watch will help you track your sleep cycles! It'll give you daily reports of your sleep time and tips for improving your sleep.

2. Prep your meals the smart way.

Prepping for a week's worth of meals is smart, but it requires a time commitment. Look for shortcuts, such as planning several meals that use the same pre-cut veggies. Spending 20 min planning and organizing your meals for the week can save any additional time during the week you would spend preparing and cooking.

Tip: gfit offers customized meal plans tailored to your needs. Meet with a registered dietitian to have your meals and measurements made for you. Making it one step easier for you to save time!

3. Think outside the box.

The average job requires sitting in front of a computer for the majority of the day. Add that to sitting down for dinner and driving or taking the bus to work, which means you're sitting for 70 percent of an average workday. Many people get caught up in one activity for exercise and one idea about what exercise looks like. Sneak in some exercise by running errands on foot, taking the stairs, parking further away from your destination, or getting off the bus a stop before you actually need to. All those extra steps add up!

4. Turn TV into fitness time.

When faced with the option of watching another episode of the Bachelor or going for a run, hitting “Next Episode” often feels so much easier. But you actually don't need to choose one or the other. If watching from home, stretch and do bodyweight exercises while enjoying the show. Most cardio machines allow a prop up for your phone, so go ahead and binge (on TV, that is).

With busy schedules, that calls for long to-do lists. Making sure we are able to set realistic goals for ourselves and stay on top of a controlled to-do list will help put us in a growth mindset. Implement these 4 tips into your daily routine to help maintain a healthy lifestyle that will not improve your overall health and put the performance in your daily tasks as well.
